Mobile Printers

I need a portable device to print and scan materials on the go. What's a quality portable printer/scanner? I work on construction job sites and have needed to print materials on site. I've also needed to scan materials. I cannot seem to find any reviews on good gear. Could someone provide a lead or two on brand/models for quality portable printer/scanners. Thanks!

Any portable fax machines or portable scanner/printer suggestions? I looked high and low. I still can't find anything. I need a fax machine that is portable. If there isn't one, I need a printer/scanner combo but it has to be portable. Canon makes one but the scanner cartridge is not available. Help!

I bought an HP Printer/Scanner when I bought my HP laptop but I'm trading my HP to my dad and getting a more portable, cheaper laptop for college so I was wondering if that printer/scanner can work with my laptop? printer/scanner set-up help!? i recently bought a printer/scanner wich is a :- ESPON stylus TX200 : and my laptop which is a :- ASUS Eee pc series (i think) which is a tiny laptop that doesnt have a disk drive , and u need 1 to set the printer/scanner i have tryed installing it on another computer then moving the files to a portable hard drive and then putting those files on 2 my laptop but when i enter its set up it sez incert disk what the hell do i do & how can i set it up

Is there Portable Scanners? I want to scan old photo's and bring them home and make a cd. Is there such a thing as a portable scanner not a printer. One that will save what you scan then take out the scan disk and put it on my computer and do the work???? I am making a DVD so I want picture quality and I don't think taking shot's with a cellphone will quite do the trick. So my question is, Is there such a think as a portable photo scanner? Which will save on SD or such? I have searched the web and can't find one...

what should i look for in a good printer for home use? i want to get a printer to go with my laptop. not necessarily a portable one, but just one that is good enough for basic use. i don't particularly need photo printing, or copying or fax. scanner would be nice though. i guess that's it.

I have 2 Computers, 2 voyager 9500 series scanners, 2 epson u220 reciept printers with appropriate keyboards and cash drawers. What's a good printer (under $150) that is superb for printing on glossy? I have a Canon iP2600. I know this printer's not really designed to print on glossy. I tried it out and a little bit of ink comes off on your fingers. I'm actually trying to make CD inserts and tray liners. I bought glossy tray liners and CD inserts, so I need a good printer that will print as professionally as possible. I don't need a scanner or fax, but if they must come with the printer then so be it. If anyone could provide me with a list of great, glossy printing printers, that'd be great. Oh, they must be full sized printers as well...none of those portable or mini photo printers. Thanks, guys.

Birthday Help!!? Okay so I am going to be thirteen on the 12th and i have no idea wat to get for my b-day. can someone help me find a laptop? specifications: 1) Interl Dual core 2 CPU. AMD chips tend to run hot. 2) screen size, and its resolution (1280 at least in my opinion). glossy or matte finish is really depending on your taste 3) RAM (at least 3gb) 4) Battery Life (2 hours is normal for a laptop), you will have to decide if you want battery power or CPU power. most likely you can't have both, not without paying a high premium. 5) Harddrive (at least 150GB), although it is nice to have as much harddrive as possible, nowdays portable harddrive are cheap, small and high capacity. 6) WiFi, this is usually standard. But make sure your laptop has this 7) USB ports. This is important IMO because you will often use USB ports on your laptop (mouse, printer, scanner, cameras, phone, etc..), so the more you have the better. Also check out the location of these USB ports. I prefer having it on both sides of the laptop, instead of crammed on one side, which will cause problems if you need to plug in two usb items together and one is shaped ackwardly. 8) Weight, if you are going to carry your laptop around frequently, then you might want to get a lighter laptop (more expensive, less power) 9) Operating system, most laptops now comes with windows Vista, 10) All others are relatively minor stuff, such as keyboard layout, the feel of the keys, heat, warrenty options, bluetooth.... so budget is $1500 please SPECIFY the laptop and give THE SITE where i can view it. thank you!

I have £700-800 to spend on a new laptop - which would you buy? I am in the UK... Give me a brand name, or a make and model recommendation, or a place to buy, or things to avoid. Main uses of my laptop: Being lightweight and portable is not a big concern - I would like a larger screen - 17" min. internet - general browsing, downloading music, watching tv online and downloading from iplayer, 4OD etc, I use the internet daily and go on sites with a lot of content editing, uploading photos, managing photos online and a blog email via outlook word processing MSoffice run a graphics programme e.g. adobe photoshop play games - not huge 3D graphic games, more like stuff downloaded from Yahoo Games etc. run a printer/scanner/photocopier So... any recommendations? Ideally, I want a machine that is upgradeable and will see me through the next 4-5 years. THank you!

TV/DVD combo will not play DVDs / Wrong Disk / Disc? Problem: A 2005 model TV/DVD combo functions fine for a few months. Suddenly, for no obvious reason, the DVD player flashes 'wrong disk' regardless of which DVD I put in it. In the meantime, the TV tuner and the two A/V hookups function fine, and the TV/DVD combo will play a DVD--only IF--I use a separate DVD player attached to one of the A/V ports. Observation after investigating the problem online: 1) This problem occurs sporadically across many different DVD models--foreign and domestic--so the issue is not 'brand specific.' 2) This has nothing to do with a 'region code,' since the DVD player once worked fine and played DVDs as it should. The DVDs were legal and not copies. The DVDs were Region 1 -- as well as the DVD player. The DVDs were legally rented or purchased for Region 1. 3) Cleaning the DVD player with a DVD cleaning kit, or with a cotton swab and alcohol makes no difference in the DVD player's response. 4) A driver upgrade or some sort of update code is not applicable because this is a DVD drive independent of a computer. These DVD drives are frequently portable (i.e. Sony), part of combo TV/DVD set (like mine) or a free-standing DVD player. These DVD drives are not part of or connected in any way to a computer hard drive. I found that the only *prospective answers* for this issue are either the good-intentioned, but misguided thoughts I've listed above--or--answers that require a membership and / or a fee before you are privy to them. This last option seems to be the most viable, since the answer is usually provided by a *certified electronics* person. I understand that paying for professional advice is fair, but why can I find information from *certified builders* and *licensed electricians* for NO FEE or MEMBERSHIP if I have a home improvement issue? Seriously, the TV/DVD player is only a couple of years old (although it is considered a 2005 model -- I bought it NEW in 2006). Through my online searching--using several different search engines and reading page after page of trouble-shooting guides and electronic forums... I found many a frustrated post from folks who have brand spankin' new DVD players (2007-08 models!) but report the same 'wrong disk' problem. I have a degree in computer science, and I have no problem rolling up my sleeves and ripping apart a hard drive or printer or scanner to attempt to make repairs--I mean seriously--after the manufacturers' warranty and the extended warranties end, what do you have to lose anyway? And, I have fixed quite a few machines by trying the advice I find in cyberspace. (I'm also comfortable working with electricity, so I highly suggest that no one tear a machine apart unless you have some basic knowledge!!) My hunch is that this DVD player is simply failing. Quality, similar to toasters, microwaves or other small appliances, has deteriorated as prices dropped. DVD players sold in the last few years are cheaply made and considered disposable by the companies who make them. So... what's my question? Can anyone give legitimate technical advice about how to remedy a 'wrong disk' error on a DVD player? If the honest response is that I should trash the DVD player and buy a new one, I'll accept that! Maybe some sage electronic advice from a knowledgeable professional out there will save lots of folks from following in my unsuccessful keystrokes! Thanks!

Could anyone recomend a good laptop for me? I'm looking to buy a good laptop to use for easy, fun, portable use (duh) that will be simple to take around. I need it for school/work but also for personal use. I have almost £300 in my bank at the moment so i'm not greatly rich but all i need is something that has closest to what i want below 1) Easy to take around and pack up (etc) 2) A good decent graphic's card and sound card 3) A good amount of space ( ram and memory fitted - i can buy and use memory sticks for extra) 4) Good speed (even if it's not superman, just as long as it doesnt take more then what would drive most people crazy on avarage) 5) A good physical size, not shamfully big but not really REALLY rediculously small - i do want to see my screen very well :) 6) Does not easily break physically or systematically 7) Can accsess internet quite easily 8) Can use modern day platforms such as XP and better 9) Can use most expected/common programs and media 10) The possibility to install softwear and peices for the uses of further graphics, programs, media and such. 11) Can use most things such as common USB's and possibly able to install for further 12) A CD player and DVD player that can at least play most common DVD platfroms 13) Mouse installment rather then just keyboard? 14) Easy to install any-virus, spam and Trojan programs 15) Doesn't blow up when too hot like such rumours of certain 'Dell' models or somthing. 16) Has a good amount of run time with possible battary and wall plug in for power/electricity. 17) Speaker, microphone and headphone plug in's? 18) printer and scanner plug in's? I'm not bothered about webcam - i've got two things for that kind of fun, so no need. warrenty? pretty worth the money. I know it sounds quiet a list and even silly in ways but that's what i'm basically looking for at the basics - as far as it can go. If anyone knows of anything closest to this it would be great help. Can you help me buy a Christmas gift? I have a 24 yr old friend who LOVES gadgets. He majors in computer engineering. He already owns basically everything I can think of. Last year I was lucky. I bought him a digital picture frame and he said he never even heard of it. He loved it tho. It could play uploades movies, music, etc. I had bought it from sharper image. They had alot of gadgets. But the site is down. So I cant get any ideas. Now Im going through this hassle all over again lol. Can you come up with any ideas? Oh and it doesnt have to be a gadget...but has to be something pretty cool to take place of a gadget. My budget for him this year is only $80. is it important to own a lot of material possessions ? im poor, live on sickness benifit, live in a smal flat , wait to see a psychologist for post traumatic stress and bpd - so i cannot afford hardly anything. i own nothing except an old computer and thats it, and just a few books. i was browsing the catalogue before & i was depressed at seeing how many things there is to buy and possess. including : - a web cam -internet phone - printer - a laminator - a scanner - digital camera - camcorders - dvd camcorders- - flash camcorder - a PDA ( personal digital assistent ) - newest mobile phone with newest features - an expensive bed - a matress topper - plenty of pillows - mp3 players and ipod -dvd player - blue ray player - widescreen tv hd tv - - xbox - playstation 3 - a new expensive kettle - portable earphones - a dab radio im obsessed about all these things & depressed because i dont have any of them & cannot afford them.. do you any of those on the list ? if you dont how do you cope when theres pressure to have them? i forgot to include : - a new computer with all newest accessories - a laptop do you own any of these ? if you dont how do you cope when there is great pressure to own them ?

Where can I buy FingerPrint Scanners Help? Okay well... I need to purchase a live scan machine to easily fingerprint people and be able to print the fingerprints on the spot... Error message:USB device not recognized?
