How long do Canon Ink Cartridges usually try after being used on a printer?

I meant the ink cartridges are already installed in the printer. So how long will it dry up naturally?

  1. about a year if it just stays in there not used
  2. It depend on where you keep the printer. If it's stored somewhere with heat then it will dry up quicker. There is no answer to this one as it's impossible to say. The best thing to do is remove the ink and place some electrical tape over the outlet hole of the cartridge. Then store them, upright, in sealed plastic bags as this will seal in moisture.
  3. Naturally - they shouldn't dry up. However, if you do not use them the print head will dry preventing any ink from passing through in about 30 days.
  4. It depends if you plan on using your printer or not. If you use the printer once a week or even once every two weeks they shouldn't dry up at all. If you let the printer sit idle for a month, then you can probably expect the ink to have clogged.
